Membership information
We work hard to support our members and it shows. Convenient services, competitive rates and courteous service are just a few of the reasons why members choose us for their financial needs. Since 1933, we’ve helped our members achieve their dreams with a variety of smart financial solutions. Whatever your needs are, we can offer effective ways to help you reach your short- and long-term goals.

Membership information

Our members are Federal Government employees and their eligible family members. Our mission is to provide you with financial services that improve your life by meeting your needs and expectations. We are committed to being the primary financial institution for all of our members. We earn this distinction with exemplary service, competitively priced products, minimum fees, and fostering the credit union philosophy: Not for profit, not for charity, but for service. Contact us to let us know how we can meet your needs!

Eligibility

If you are a Federal employee in the Buffalo Metropolitan area and its surrounding counties, an employee of the Federal Reserve Bank of Buffalo, or an employee of Wackenhut Corporation in Buffalo, you, your spouse, and members of your immediate family are eligible for membership in Buffalo Service Credit Union. Immediate family members include: mother, father, husband, wife, son, daughter, adopted child, grandchild, grandmother, grandfather, siblings, stepparents, stepchildren and stepsiblings. Also, persons living in the same residence with a member or someone eligible for membership and maintaining a single economic unit, e.g., co-habitation, are eligible for membership. Also, if someone were once eligible for membership but did not join and he/she has left the employer or was terminated by the employer, he/she is still eligible for membership as long as he or she receives a pension or annuity from the employer.

How to become a member

If you or a family member would like to join, simply come to the nearest BSCU location with government ID and civilian ID (e.g., driver’s license), and open a Share Savings Account with a balance of $25 or more – a small investment in order to receive the many benefits of credit union membership. If you have any questions, give us a call at 716-842-1320, and we’ll be happy to help you.
